This coming March, Zapateria will be hosting our first in-house shoemaking workshop titled Shoemaking Express. It is a 2-day workshop for aspiring makers who would like to learn and experience the specific processes involved in basic shoemaking. This course is a mix of lecture type session and experiential learning workshop that would result in the creation of one pair of handmade footwear which the participant can bring home after the sessions.
In this workshop, the makers will learn how to execute the development of a pattern and be able to create an actual pair of shoes hands-on by making the shoes themselves from upper preparation, sewing, lasting, bottoming to finishing. For starting shoe brands, this workshop also serves as a business orientation wherein the participants would be briefed about the manufacturing elements of starting a footwear enterprise.
